Recently, reporters learned from the Baoding Municipal Market Supervision Administration that the bureau has jointly launched a national pilot project for textile carbon footprint labeling certification with multiple departments in Gaoyang County. At the launch ceremony, the Gaoyang County government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Quality Certification Center, Hangzhou Wantai Certification Co., Ltd., and the Fangyuan Certification Group Co., Ltd., leveraging their strengths in carbon footprint certification services to assist Gaoyang County in building a management service system for textile carbon footprint labeling certification, enhancing the competitiveness of the textile industry in green and low-carbon development. It is reported that Gaoyang (textiles) was selected as one of the first batch of national product carbon footprint labeling certification pilot projects in December 2024. Currently, the Baoding Municipal Market Supervision Bureau, based on the actual development of the industry, guides the Gaoyang County government to formulate a plan for promoting the pilot work of carbon footprint labeling certification, identifying six enterprises and nineteen products such as daily towels and cotton yarns for the first batch of participants. They are also actively connecting with the 26 institutions listed by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration for participation in the product carbon footprint labeling certification pilot projects, while synchronizing the formulation of provincial local standards for textile carbon footprint certification, providing a standard system support for the pilot construction. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the first batch of six pilot enterprises in Gaoyang County will complete the carbon label certification; by the end of 2027, twenty pilot enterprises will achieve full coverage of national product carbon footprint labeling certification, establishing a complete green supply chain system for the textile industry, helping export-oriented textile enterprises enhance brand value and international market competitiveness, strengthening Baoding City's voice in green and low-carbon development standards and rules, and comprehensively creating a new scene of 'promoting sales through carbon, increasing production through sales, and transforming the chain through production' for a manufacturing powerhouse.
